1996: “Does granting local community access to protected areas reduce illegal and unsustainable use of forest resources?”. Proposal to U. S. Agency for International Development. Award: USD 7,500.

 

1994. Tanzania. Historical and current use of wildlife by people formerly resident in Ruaha National Park. Overseas Development Administration. Based on "oral history" surveys conducted in Swahili language in villages near the park. Considered impacts of resettlement after park formation.

 

1994/1995. Aerial surveys (wet and dry seasons) of large mammal distribution and abundance in Ruaha National Park and adjoining dispersal areas.
